Look-up table not read / accepted

Post by hokanson » Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:18 pm

Hi,

I'm attempting to use the look-up table function instead of the van Genuchten -Mualem model. In short, I've just used the Hydrus generated look-up table (from Check.out from a previous successful model run) but I've put a floor on the K values so my upper forest floor layers maintain a reasonable K value when they dry out. I've done my best to emulate the example MATER.IN files but for some reason when I go to calculate the project it fails when it's supposed to read the material information. If I let Hydrus use it's own generated data from my Van Genuchten parameters, it runs fine for about 14,800 days, but I can't get the solver to accept my mater.in file (attached, however this won't accept the .in extension, so here it is .txt).

Here's my work flow

1. Select 'Look-Up Table' as the Soil Hydraulic Model; save
2. Export data for Hydrus solver in text format
3. Paste my mater.in file into the project folder
4. Import input data from *.IN files
5. Calculate current project. solver window opens and closes almost immediately

I'd appreciate any assistance,
Thanks,
KH

We cannot help you if you do not post the entire project. Let me attached two testing examples for the use of look-up tables. J.

Hi,

thanks for the quick reply. I've attached the project.

I should add that I've tried increasing the precision, and I've also tried just copying the Hydrus-generated 'Check.out.' I'm still having issues getting to run.

Thanks for your time,
KH

This is not useful either. See FAQ 17: https://www.pc-progress.com/en/Default. ... q-11-20#k7. J.

I'm sorry, this is such a hassle. It's too big to post as a zip, and obviously its not working a .rar. Is there anyway of getting it to you another way?

Thanks for all your help,
K Hokanson

Hi,

I tried a different program to make the .rar file. Hopefully this one isn't corrupt.

Sorry for all the trouble,
K Hokanson

Normally, both zip and rar files work just fine. We have done it many times in this discussion forum. Alternatively, I guess you can use DropBox or similar tools. JS

Hi,

The 2nd rar file I sent seems to open just fine on my end. Hopefully it works on yours as well.

Thanks for your patience,
K Hokanson
