A discussion forum for RETC users. RETC is a program which can be used to analyze the soil water retention and hydraulic conductivity functions of unsaturated soils.

Hydraulic conductivity using dual porosity model

Post by rafaelvillarreal » Tue Feb 23, 2021 4:43 pm

Hi, I am using the RETC code (version 6.02) for fitting the retention and hydraulic conductivity data obtained with the evaporation method. I used the dual porosity model (Durner, 1994). However I can't find the hydraulic conductivity model used by the program. It is the same than the Priesack and Durner (2006)? The manual does not specify this information. Thank you very much.

Yes, it is.

We have never updated the old RETC manual, which thus describes only the VG and BC models. You can find the description of all models (including Kosugi and Durner) implemented in RETC in the Hydrus manual.

I believe that this was all described in the RETC help, but Microsoft stopped supporting the hlp format in Windows 10, and thus I cannot open it any longer. J.
