RETC use

Post by deplater » Thu Oct 31, 2019 3:27 pm

Hello all,

I am new using the RETC Van G. model software. I have done a WP4C, tempe cell, and Ksat lab work on a soil core. Now i am using the RETC software. My question is, I am confused on what values to enter under the (Qr, Qs, Alpha, n, I, Ks) .

I have all my soil bulk density and ksat information but i need to make a soil retention curve graph with RETC with my soil core. Help.

Thanks!

Please note that the Discussion forum is not a substitution for familiarizing yourself first with technical manuals for a particular software. For RETC, that would be:

van Genuchten, M. Th., F. J. Leij, and S. R. Yates. 1991. The RETC Code for Quantifying the Hydraulic Functions of Unsaturated Soils, Version 1.0. EPA Report 600/2-91/065, U.S. Salinity Laboratory, USDA, ARS, Riverside, California. (Download PDF, 2.1Mb).
