Bug on RETC with windows 7 & 8

Post by Tycho » Thu May 07, 2015 12:18 pm

I tried to run RECT on 2 different laptops with windows 7 & windows 8 and every time, when I tried to save the current project, the software is bugging and closing itself. Would you have any idea to solve this issue?
Thanks for the attention!

No, we have not heard about such RETC behavior.
Have you tried the test examples (so that you know if the problem is due to your input)?

RETC is a very old program and was designed for Windows XP. It is not compatible with UAC (User Account Control) introduced in Windows Vista. From this point of view, there can be a number of various problems on new Windows systems. However, the program is still usable on Win7/8 if you change the location of projects or if you run the program with elevated privileges (i.e. "As Administrator"), which can be specified in properties of the RETC shortcut (RETC icon on your desktop). We do not plan to create a new version of RETC.
