log-normal distribution retention model

A discussion forum for RETC users. RETC is a program which can be used to analyze the soil water retention and hydraulic conductivity functions of unsaturated soils.

log-normal distribution retention model

Post by beboehme » Mon Aug 11, 2014 7:25 am

Hello,
I am searching for the documentation of the log-normal distribution retention model / Mualem conductivity implemented in RETC . In the manual of 1991 (van Genuchten et al.) the model is not yet included.
I will be grateful for any hint for where to find the equations beyond the model.

Thank you
Kind regards,
Beate

You can find the details in the original paper of Kosugi (1996):

Kosugi K., Lognormal distribution model for unsaturated soil hydraulic properties, Water Resour. Res., 32(9), 2697-2703, 1996.

or in the manual of Hydrus-1D (where you can find detailed description of all models implemented in RETC and Hydrus).
