Please explain “application time i.e 3.104 in Fig.

I am confused to understand about attached example
with CXT-fit "Fig7.9a: Tritium effluent from Glendale clay loam (exp3-1, van Genuchten)"where they used the "pulse input at application T" plus they put "application time"i.e. 3.104 but in leachate they got conc. starting from 0.5 time, although initial conc. was zero.
" I was thinking it as the time upto which they applied water after alone pulse input?
Can you explain the "application time" in boundry value problem i.e. 3.104? in example 7.9a

I applied Br- as tracer in field study with 1st irrigation and then got leachate upto 1 year at sebsequent irrigations after Br application at 1 m depth. What will be "application time" in BVP (boundry value problem" here?

Application time: This is the duration of the application of solute. The solute is applied from time zero till this time (i.e., 3.102). Note that in this example, the time is dimensionless (or pore volume). See the manual for the definition of the application time.
