Drainage system

Post by alik » Thu Oct 27, 2022 1:56 pm

Dear Jirka,
After using Hydrus for simulation of the field with a drainage system, I also understood the drainage can be controlled at specific head as implemented in special boundary conditions. However in this way one value can be attributed to whole simulation time. I would like to know if it is possible to somehow control the drainage system at specific head for a specific period. like before sowing at 90cm then after V4 at 50cm and for harvest at 90cm... of course one way is to run hydrus and use the last day for the initial condition of the first day and re run for that specific head, though it will need lots of manual interferences and not easy to do.
Thanks in advance

I do not know what “special boundary conditions” you are referring to. We do not refer to any BCs of H1D as “special boundary conditions”. J.

sorry for wrong terminology i meant the tab in Boundary Conditions Options as attached photo.
Just to recall my questions, is there any way to impose this boundary condition for specific period of simulation time? I want to use it for control drainage scenario.
Thanks

This refers to the 2D code, while you posted your question in the H1D discussion forum. Anyway, although it would not be difficult to link this value to one of the time-variable pressure head values, this value is currently constant in time. J.

Im sorry for misplacement of the question, to do your suggestion in Hydrus 2D/3D someone should change the code? would that be possible?
Thanks
