Boundary condition

Post by litlux » Tue Jan 05, 2021 1:57 am

Happy New Year,

I am quite confused between atmospheric BC with surface Layer and Constant flux upper boundary condition for water flow boundary conditions. Could you help me with that please?

In my case, I have a soil column which was subjected to uniform rainfall of 10 mm/hour. What upper water flow boundary condition should I use.

Thank you and best regards

As long as you do not expect ponding of the soil surface, both BCs should work the same. If you do, then you should use the atmospheric BC, which can deal with such conditions. J.
