Solute fluxes calculated from obs points

Post by saka » Wed Nov 20, 2019 11:00 am

Hi,

I ran a single layer model with water flow and solute transport only and using atmospheric BC with surface runoff as upper boundary and variable pressure head as lower boundary. I placed observation points in four varying depths including at the bottom of the profile. In the solute.out file the solute flux, cvBot, differ from cv(i=bottom). I probably missed something basic, but I would have thought that they should be similar?

At the end of the Solute.out file you get solute fluxes for top 3 observation nodes. If you have four observation nodes, then you do not get the info for the last one. While cvBot and Sum(cvBot) reports total solute fluxes, the observation node fluxes, i.e., cv and Sum(cv) are only convective fluxes. J.
