using calibrated model

Post by nessrine » Mon Jan 27, 2025 12:37 pm

I worked on Hydrus, I calibrated and validated a 1D Hydrus model by working on a potato field (the work was published on water journal) . Currently, I am going to work on the same field (i.e., the same soil) but with a different crop. Does my calibrated and validated model still remain valid? If I use the calibrated and validated Van Genuchten parameters to simulate directly with Hydrus for another crop and manage irrigation scenarios, is that possible?

thank you

Unless there is some very different soil management, e.g., plowing, the properties should remain the same. J.
