Video with Windows 10

Post by David Radcliffe » Mon Oct 22, 2018 2:14 pm

I'm running Windows 10 and when I try to make and animation, depending on which type of video I choose, I get one of the following messages that says

Can't play. This item was encoded in a format that's not supported.

or

Can't play. Something went wrong. Try restarting the app, etc.

Anyone else have this problem?

The default video player (Movies & TV) cannot play these AVI files. Use another player: click by right mouse button on the AVI file and select "Open with - Windows Media Player".

I always use the standard (default) AVI format. And it is always working, both in the Windows Media Player and after the file is inserted into a ppt presentation. I do that also during the Hydrus courses, which means that hundreds of attendees have done that on their notebooks (as far as I remember without complaints). J.
