Dear admin,

I am now using Hydrus for studying the infiltration characteristic in loess soil china. My experiment was conducted in one cubic meter of soil container in which 30 liters of water was filled. When I'm working on HYDRUS 2x, I don't know how to determine or how much Head Pressure I should applied and where 30 liters uses in this model.
Thank you in advance.

I think you should calculate water content (based on the volume of water and volume of soil) and use it as an initial condition. Note that you can choose to use either pressure heads or water contents as an initial condition.

Note that I will be giving the HYDRUS short course in Beijing on July 2-4 (http://www.pc-progress.com/en/Default.aspx?courses).
