validation of field test

Hello!
I want to simulate a infiltration for following field conditions
Area irrigated: 100 sq.m. (10m X10m)
Water used for irrigation= 720 L in 1 hour
Depth of soil column= 6m

here I want to verify field results with hydrus model.

I am simulating this condition in in 2D general domain.
I have considered 20m additional length on either side of the irrigated length (See attached figure for boundary condition)
Soil type: Loamy sand
Initial condition= Theta= 0.098
Simulation time= 60min
Time variable boundary condition with precipitation of 0.0000012cm/min for 60min.( evaporation is neglected by giving surface length associated with transpiration as '0')

In this simulation I have following queries
i) after providing no flux condition on either sides, water content/ pressure head is observed to be same through out the length of (2000+1000+2000 cm). [Where I thought of getting infiltration through middle 1000 cm length only with vertical and horizontal movement of water].
ii) No infiltration flux is observed plots
iii) surface run-off is also not observed

You cannot have free drainage BC on top or sides of the domain. As it is a gravitational flow, it can be used only at the bottom of the domain. You should read more about the boundary conditions so that you understand what they represent. It would likely also help to do first some of our tutorials. J.
