time variable pressure head with atmospheric BC

Post by chaim » Mon Jun 16, 2025 9:05 am

Dear Hydrus community,
I have a 2D model to simulation water infiltration from top surface with +ve pressure head (5cm) in the beginning for a short period of time and then switch to atmospheric BC for the rest of time. I followed the manual to set up the time-variable pressure head input table (see pic below). But the simulation result showed a constant 0 pressure head after the initial +ve pressure head for the rest of time, instead of decreasing pressure head (-ve) due to infiltration and transpiration. Does anyone have similar problem and can offer your solution please? Thanks.

I do not see any negative values in your “VarH1” column, as this BC options requires for swithing the type of BC from variable head to atmospheric BC. J.

Thanks for your reply and suggestion.
I will try to modify the table. Thanks.
