Mesh generation
Mesh generation
Hello, I am trying to create unstructured mesh for my hydrus model. But I am not able to create it. Whenever I try the automatic mesh generation it tells me to define the boundary. When I select the "yes" option to create automatic boundary, the model domain becomes blue. I am not sure how should I proceed? I have attached the model file and also the picture. Any kind of help will be really helpful. Thanks in advance!

Re: Mesh generation
The blue color represents the domain (= one or more „Surfaces“) for which the mesh is generated. If there is no surface, the FE-mesh cannot be generated. The hole in the surface (see the circle in your picture) can be easily created using the "Opening via Boundaries" command (on the Editbar).
We have many video tutorials on our website for these basic things:

Unfortunately, I have now found out that Adobe Flash is no longer suppoprted, so it will be difficult to play these videos. We will have to remake them (which will be very laborious) or convert them somehow to newer format.

Re: Mesh generation
Dear Mirek,
Thank you very much for your response. It would have been great if I could watch the video. I have created the hole in the circle using the following steps: Insert>domain geometry> opening>graphically (then selected the circle boundary). After that I tried to create the mesh and it gives me the following error (picture attached). Please let me know how can I solve this. I am completely stuck at this step! Waiting to hear from you. Thanks.![Image]()

Re: Mesh generation
As I already wrote, there is no "Surface" in your domain - you must create at least one surface. See attached video.
