Unexpected soil water content results

Hi,
I used Hydrus 1D to simulate, under field conditions, soil water content as affected by various levels of irrigation water salinity. Results showed that by decreasing irrigation water salinity there was an increase in soil water content. Is it possible? or it's just a simulation mistake?

Thank you very much for the response. I did what you have suggested (transferring transpiration rates into evaporation rates) BUT still the same problem, no convergence.

water flow only

Dear all,
In the example "5SEASON" given with HYDRUS-1D, I wanted to simulate water flow only. So I just unchecked Solute transport, Heat transport and Root water uptake in the Main process window. The numerical solution did not converge at all. What was wrong?

What do these symbols mean? What each symbol refer to?

Thank you for the reply. So is there any way to use hourly temperatures as input so that I can study the effect of diurnal temp variation on temp profiles inside soil column? I used an electric lamp, switched on/off every 12 hrs to heat soil surface.
