Re: Evaporation from Fracture region
Thanks for your reply. Just 1 thing to figure out. I am talking now only in the water flow context now. Is it true that parameter SF (surface flux in the fracture) is turned off when the matrix is saturated and generates excess water? I have a feeling that excess water overwrites the parameter vTop....

Re: Missing simulation
Thanks, Jirka,
Of course, I have tried, but there is convergence problems while changing it. I have tried to decrease the time step, but it didn't work. Since it is a dual-permeability model I don't want to mess up anything.
Best,
Andin

Re: Missing simulation
Sorry for the misspelling. Test 1a1 (Dual-Permeability Model, Infiltration into matrix, a=1 cm).

Missing simulation
Dear Jirka,
There is 1 simulation missing in zip folder, namely Test1a in the Dual-Permeability project.
https://www.pc-progress.com/Downloads/P ... acture.zip.
Just for your information. Can you upload it, if you still have it?
Regards,
Andin

Evaporation from Fracture region
Dear Jirka, Would you mind clarifying 1 thing, since I didn't find specific information concerning this question on the forum or manul.? How evaporation is implemented in the Dual-Permeability model? I see that calculations can be done either with Penman-Monteith Combination Equation or with Hargrea...

Some discrepancy in Hydrus1D?
Dear prof. Šimunek and forum members, I am simulating non-reactive solute mass transfer using dual permeability model with time-variable boundary conditions. The solute (0.0002 g) and rain (10 cm/day) inputs are on the 6th day of the simulation. 1. In Hydrus 1D under the solute parameters settings, ...

Re: Solute transport with dual-permeavility.Initial conditions
I have opened one of your projects, and realized that you have chosen the most complex model that is available (while also ignoring every advice that we give on what parameters to choose to get stable numerical solution). You select the dual-permeability model with immobile water content in the mat...

Re: Solute transport with dual-permeavility.Initial conditions
Thanks, that is clear to me now. In my opinion, the soil surface is very crucial and has a great impact on what is happening in the soil, meaning that surface flow into the fracture/matrix can control the preferential flow. Since the idea is to specify the solute in the matrix, I try to simulate now...

Re: Solute transport with dual-permeavility.Initial conditions
Hi, When I wrote this comment, I was able to obtain the ConstF and ConstM columns when I changed the initial conditions as I mentioned above. I suppose it was a lag in Hydrus to render the proper Surface profile summary. But now it seems working fine. Now initially I have specified 2 mg of solute in...

Re: Solute transport with dual-permeavility.Initial conditions
Thanks for a such quick reply. I got these 2 columns for the Fracture and Matrix after I set a fraction of the surface flux to 1, meaning that the surface flux will flow into the fracture first, then into the matrix. However, my simulation considers initially surface flow into the matrix. Is there a...

Solute transport with dual-permeavility.Initial conditions
Dear all, I am using the dual-permeability (physical non-equilibrium) model to simulate solute dissipation. My solute is assumed to be non-reactive. A solute is initially presented in the top 2 cm of soil (soil column 230 cm). I already know how to specify the fracture of surface flux either to the ...
