Hi,

I guess you use surface complexation with -no_edl option. In that case, the solution is not neutral, but has a charge that has to be transported. You need to add an additional 'solute' to be transported, namely Charge,

Dear,

you are correct, water consumed by mineralogical reactions are not accounted for in the distributed version of HPx. However, everything is implemented in a beta version, but it needs to be benchmarked. I will inform you when this is done,

Hello,

I will need to make a test case by myself to evaluate everything is implemented ok. However, we worked once with kinetics and solute uptake by roots in 2D which was working fine.

the HP1 version in the HYDRUS version you obtain from PC-progress does not contain the most recent version for gas diffusion.

I guess you are working with the official released version of HP as included in the HYDRUS-GUI. the function is probable not present in that version.

Note also that the list in the graphical user interface only lists some of the most common component users usually use. If your specific component is not in the list, as is the case of As (or if you define a new component), you can also just type the component in the Component table.

Dear, the basic variable TIME in the rate equation does have the same units as defined in the GUI of HYDRUS. It should have the value of the current time step in hydrus (e.g. 0.02 units). I have to answer negatively twice:
-> if you want to have the latest version with gas diffusion (having deleted some bugs), you need to ask me for a different version

-> We still have phreeqc-2. I hope, later this year, we can switch to phreeqc-3

stricktly spoken, in phreeqc terms, it is just the total moles in the system. In HP1, the volume attributed to each cell is 1 dm³ (= volume of the system of a given cell).
