### Re: Application of variable boundary condition one full time step after initial condition?

Thanks a lot for your reply. Now I can be sure this issue has other causes.

### Application of variable boundary condition one full time step after initial condition?

Dear Prof. Simunek, we are having trouble with applying variable boundary conditions to a profile with quite negative matric potentials (-700cm) The time step is hours. The initial condition is applied at time step 0. The first variable boundary conditions at time step >0 so 1. We would have expecte...

### Re: boundary condition code for inverse solution

Dear Prof. Simunek,

thank you so much for your fast response. I will use the number 2 for my Hydrus 1D model. The reason I must have been quoting the Hydrus2D/3D Manual is that I didn't find the information in the Hydrus 1D Manual and help. Maybe I missed it.

Kind regards

### boundary condition code for inverse solution

Hello Prof. Simunek, I have a setup where the GW table is always in the modelled column. The input for the lower boundary condition in the window "boundary condition" is matrix potential at bottom boundary = GW level. The model then gives among other things the outflow at the bottom boundary. To mak...

### Two questions on inverse modeling and one on IC

Dear Prof. Simunek, Some questions I couln't find answers to in the manual, tutorials or literature: I am modeling saturated-unsaturated conditions in a 2m water column in which I am measuring matric potential in three depths. Thus, some matric potentials are negative, some are positive and for each...

### Re: Ponding over fully saturated soil column = GW above ground

Hello Jirka, thanks for the quick reply. 1. I have not set "atmospheric BC", I have set "atmospheric BC with surface layer"(h=7) to enable this GW of 3cm above soil surface. Are you saying that even with this BC, I cannot have a GW above ground = fully saturated profile with surface layer at any poi...

### Ponding over fully saturated soil column = GW above ground

Dear Jirka, Í have seen you mention several times that if a soil column is fully saturated as an initial condition, the top centimetre should be set to slightly unsaturated (for example less than -2cm if the air entry pressure is -2cm for VGM). Does this mean that the initial condition should never ...

### Where to enter LAI for Interception when E and T are seperate BCs

Dear Prof. Simunek, dear all, 1. I selected to input Ep and Tp seperately in HYDRUS 1D (because having Hydrus split ETp was not giving me the values I wanted), by not entering met. data and by not clicking "Input PET and LAI". However, when I do this, there is no longer a possibility to input LAI an...
