I have run a monte carlo, using matlab, of PFOS transport through a deep vadose zone. The only input parameters that fluctuate between the monte carlo iterations are the solid phase Kd and Kl,awi, I am looking at relative contributions to solid phase vs air-water-interfacial sorption and I am using ...

Error when writing output files.
Hello, I get the below error when running monte carlo simulations using matlab. 302 of the 1000 simulations executed properly then at iteration 303 I got the below code. Why would hydrus all of a sudden have trouble writing to an output file? There was no indication that the iteration didn't converg...

Re: ''Error opening file PCPINFOR.SYS!'' ??
I uninstalled and reinstalled the H1D program and the GUI can see my .h1d file but does nothing when I open it. .....??? I can run my file externally with the .exe and level01.dir file but without accessing the GUI how do I tell the .exe to close the dos window automatically? I don't want to have t...

close dos window automatically...following lots of errors?
I am doing monte carlo simulations using matlab. I ran a simulation of 1000 runs and my code/hydrus worked perfectly. I then decided to change the diffusivity value in my reference simulation. I ran the exact same model with just a different diffusivity using the GUI and got the error 'Error opening...

''Error opening file PCPINFOR.SYS!'' ??
Hi, I'm running the Jeff Silva modified version of Hydrus 1D. I'm doing monte carlo simulations with matlab. I had one successful run of 1000 simulations. I have tried two time after this and now I'm getting the error: ''Error opening file PCPINFOR.SYS!'' Why? Nothing in the model placement in my fi...

plots now showing all time intervals?
The profile information plots are only showing the T0 profile and not the 5 time intervals I wanted to be plotted. What might be causing this?

run hydrus 1D .exe multiple times with matlab
I'm trying to do a monte carlo sensitivity analysis of hydraulic parameters using matlab. Per the template file on the hydrus page , I created the below matlab file that creates subdirectories for each monte carlo run, each with the .exe, level_01.dir, and all the other necessary input files. Howeve...

Re: Monte Carlo with Matlab
Has anyone else actually coupled matlab to hydrus to run a Monte Carlo of the Solute transport parameters? Despite a solid month of effort, I can't get the example files listed in this thread to actually work and I have not been able to track down the author of this original matlab code to figure ou...

Monte Carlo with Matlab
Hi all, Does anyone have a Matlab file already generated that they would be willing to share that has the ability to run Monte Carlo simulations in Hydrus 1D? I want to look at the uncertainty surrounding a certain type of contaminant transport and I've never coupled Matlab to another program before...

l should add, that I have read Appendix 2 to help on the matter, but still do not have a clear answer.

Hi I have a long time series of precipitation and Eto and I'm trying to simulate infiltration of a nonreactive solute through a deep vadose zone...and when that solute reaches the water table. I am confident that I should be using "atmospheric BC with surface layer" for the upper boundary condition,...

How to simulate suction applied at bottom of column experiment
Hello, We ran column experiments were fresh water was applied to the top of a column filled with impacted soil. To induce drainage at the bottom of the column, variable suction was applied. The amount of suction over time was measured as inches of mercury. We also know the amount of water that drain...
