Re: Hydrus solutions not converging outside of GUI

Thanks for your prompt response! I thought I must be doing something wrong so I exported the input files from the working GUI project, didn’t update anything and run it from (i) within R – Solution stopped at day 7 and (ii) Windows Shell – Solution stopped at day 22. While, it runs fine within GUI f...

Hydrus solutions not converging outside of GUI

Dear Jirka and Mirek, I am manually updating input files outside of GUI in R for multiple seasons for initializing purpose. I am also running Hydrus outside of GUI using system2("C:/Program Files/PC-Progress/HYDRUS 3.x 64-bit/Bin/h2d_calc.exe"). Hydrus runs fine for some seasons and fails for others...

Output flux sensitivity to mesh size

Hi All, I am simulating a 500 meter hillslope with different soil types and have a working spatial discretization that produces results. I now wanted to check how sensitive my results are to the mesh size using small hillslope of two clay soil profiles shown below. Hillslope.png I simulated it for t...

Re: Simulating Root Water Uptake with Root Growth model using Hydrus 2D

I see. This is the last thing I need to start producing results for one of my PhD chapters. Is there a plan to add that option in the future? If so, how soon? Otherwise, do you have alternative suggestions on how to go about it. I was thinking to vertically slice down my hillslope by various surface...

Re: Simulating Root Water Uptake with Root Growth model using Hydrus 2D

Thank you so much. It works fine for a flat surface now; however, when I do the same thing as scenario 3 on an inclined plane (e.g. hillslope). I get the result shown below for RWU. It doesn’t look like it is taking the inclined surface into consideration; thus, RWU only happening on top left corner...

Re: Simulating Root Water Uptake with Root Growth model using Hydrus 2D

I am not sure I follow what you mean by “replaced them in the folder where HYDRUS is installed.” I don’t see similar files named “h2d_calc” or “h2d_clci” to replace within the HYDRUS 3.x 64-bit folder. I tried saving it next to HYDRUS 3.x 64-bit folder under PC-Progress folder but I am getting this ...

Simulating Root Water Uptake with Root Growth model using Hydrus 2D

I have a question regarding Simulating Root Water Uptake with Root Growth model using Hydrus 2D With uniform horizontal distribution of plants without specifying any particular plant position. <br/> I set up a simple homogeneous soil with atmospheric boundary on top and free drainage for bottom boun...
