Thank you for your quick reply.
Fayer (2000)'s paper only describes the variations in potential evaporation and transpiration during the day.
I am looking for a rational explanation for cosine distribution of daily precipitation as considered in HYDRUS-1D.

I am trying to run a number of HYDRUS-1D projects sequentially outside of GUI.

Dear Jirka, I checked all model inputs again considering "rules about spatial and temporal discretization". The initial time step is 1 sec and finer mesh in the order of cm has been defined at soil-atmosphere boundary. I am using VG model with reasonable values for hydraulic parameters of a silt lao...
