Sultan Qaboos University (SQU), Oman Scientific collaboration in Numerical modeling of Vadose zone hydrology using HYDR

The Department of Soils, water and Agricultural Engineering at SQU announces an opportunity for scientific collaboration in the area of “numerical modeling of vadoze zone hydrology. In particular, we are looking to collaborate with a professional “HYDRUS 3D modeler”. The candidate will be invited to...

Re: Err:

Dear HYDRUS users I encountered the same problem while modelling water and solute, . I am using HYDRUS-3D version 3.01.1360. I tried to run the simulation several times until it finished. Once i press enter to continue, no results were displayed. I thought there might be something wrong with the mod...

Re: Variable flux to simulate wicking of water into soil

Dear prof I tried to do 3 different things : 1. set a variable flux <ks for the soil 2. use the same value of the flux through all the simulation time. In this condition the variable flux is constant. 3. i was also suspecting that the problem could be due to the sign (-/+) of the flux although the m...

Variable flux to simulate wicking of water into soil

Dear HYDRUS experts I am trying to model water and solute transport in a silt loam soil irrigated via wicking from the bottom using HYDRUS 2D. I assigned var.flux2 bc for the wicking point at the bottom of the soil. I intended to simulate irrigation via wicking every 3 days [1 day irrigation via wic...

Re: T3D Internal Error

Dear Mirek,
Thanks for your reply with detailed explanation. I followed your advice and it really solve the problem. I know that my biggest mistake was to use the boundary surfaces of the internal solids as boundary surfaces for solid 2.

I really thank you

Re: T3D Internal Error

Dear HYDRUS 3D users I am also doing 3D modelling on my project and now i got the same problem. I Red problem description and suggestion but i could not identify how to solve it in my model. Could anyone help me to detect the exact reason on my model and how can i solve it. I really want to learn ho...

Simulation is very slow, take long time and i got NaN in the simulation run

Dear Hydrus experts, I am still unable to solve my problem with simulation of root water uptake in a box of silt loam (length=40 cm, width=40 and height=28) for 30 days. I am using HYDRUS 2D/3D professional version 2. I specify 2 cm mesh size, no flow BC from all side of the box except the surface. ...

Simulation is very slow or i got NaN in the simulation run

Dear Hydrus users, I am running a simulation of root water uptake in a box of silt loam (length=40 cm, width=40 and height=28) for 30 days. I set a mesh size of 2 cm. In the time variable BC, i set evaporation= 1.5 cm/day, transpiration=0.8 cm/day for sweet corn and area associated with transpiratio...

Questions about root water uptake modeling

Dear Hydrus users I am currently trying to simulate root water uptake (sweet corn) in a box of silt loam soil of dimensions length=40 cm, width=40 cm and height=28 (see figure 1). This is a 3D modeling in hydrus (2D/3D) version 2.05.0200. I am using Feddes model. However, i encountered many challeng...

Re: Boundary condition can not be set...surface does not lie on domain boundary

Dear Prof Simunek
Thanks for the reply,
Do you have any suggestions on how can i make it. How can i create boundary at the bottom opening?
