The manuscript describing the development of the HYDRUS software (Šimůnek et al., 2008) has been listed as the most widely cited manuscript in the 20-year history of the Vadose Zone Journal.

We congratulate our collaborator Dr. Jirka Simunek for receiving the 2021 Hydrological Sciences Award from the Hydrology section of AGU (American Geophysical Union). The Hydrological Sciences Award is granted for outstanding contributions to the Science of Hydrology over a career, with an emphasis on the past five years. It is the highest disciplinary recognition for senior scientists within the Hydrology section. Congratulations!
