HYDRUS Maintenance and Upgrades
HYDRUS Versions
The purchased HYDRUS license is valid for the current version of the program at the time of purchase. The version is defined by two numbers separated by a dot, indicating the major and minor versions - for example 5.01, where "5" is the major version and "01" the minor version. This version of the program is also listed on the invoice.
HYDRUS Updates
In the released version of the program, minor fixes are sometimes required, and a third number separated by a period is used to number these subversions, such as 5.01.0450 and 5.01.0460. We call these subversions Updates or Patches. The customer obtains these updates for free.
HYDRUS Upgrades
Major program changes and new features are released for customers as Upgrades one or more times a year. Upgrades always have a higher version number, major or minor, such as 5.01 and 5.02. These upgrades can be obtained in two ways:
- As part of the HYDRUS Maintenance subscription
- By purchasing a one-time upgrade - see HYDRUS pricing.
HYDRUS Maintenance Benefits
The HYDRUS Maintenance subscription will provide you with the following benefits:
- Access to the latest version of HYDRUS, including all updates and upgrades, which also means a free upgrade to a new major version of HYDRUS (e.g., from version 5.x to 6.x). This applies to the main program and add-on modules to which the customer is licensed.
- Guaranteed compatibility with new versions of Windows.
- Priority customer support, which includes answers to general questions that directly relate to the functions of the program and help with installation and activation of HYDRUS within 24 hours (during working days). Support is provided by e-mail.
Ordering HYDRUS Maintenance
You can subscribe to the HYDRUS Maintenance when ordering a new HYDRUS license or later for an existing license. In the second case, however, you must first purchase a one-time upgrade to the current version of HYDRUS - if your purchased license has a lower version.
