Offline Activation of HYDRUS - Activation by E-mail

• Step 1 - Download HYDRUS installation program
• Step 2 - Install HYDRUS on your computer
• Step 3 - Generate the authorization request
• Step 4 - Send the authorization request to HYDRUS customer support
• Step 5 - Enter the activation code

Step 1 - Download HYDRUS installation program

Login to ELIS and download the latest HYDRUS installation program. You can find all installation programs on the page "Downloads".

Step 2 - Install HYDRUS on your computer

1. HYDRUS installation program is a self-extracting file, created in InstallShield (for example Hydrus3D_2.02.0670.exe). Once you double-click on it, it will automatically unpack into a temporary directory and start running Setup. Follow the instructions provided by SetUp.
2. The installation program will ask you for destination directories for the HYDRUS program files and data files (HYDRUS projects and settings). Remember that HYDRUS projects should be located in a directory that is fully accessible for reading/writing/deleting of files.
3. At the end of the installation process, check the "Launch HYDRUS" check box, which will start HYDRUS.

Step 3 - Generate the authorization request

HYDRUS is protected either by a Software Lock that is based on information about the hardware on which it is run or, starting with version 2.02, using a Hardware Key (HASP). If you have not purchased a license protected by HASP, you need to activate HYDRUS, otherwise the program works as a demo version.

1. If HYDRUS is not already running, run it "As Administrator", i.e. click on the HYDRUS icon by right mouse button and select "Run as administrator".
2. Go to the main menu and click on the command "Help->Hydrus License and Authorization".
3. In the "HYDRUS Authorization" dialog, press the button "Activate by E-mail".
4. In the dialog "Activation by E-mail", enter your License number, customer name, computer description and select the purchased HYDRUS level that you want to activate.
5. Press the button "Generate Request Codes", which will generate unique two numbers needed for the activation of HYDRUS on the given computer.

Step 4 - Send the authorization request to HYDRUS customer support

1. Press the button "Copy request codes to the clipboard...", paste your authorization request into an e-mail and send it to HYDRUS customer support support@pc-progress.cz.
2. You can close the dialog and HYDRUS.

Step 5 - Enter the activation code

After receiving the activation code from HYDRUS customer support, enter it in the dialog "Activation by E-mail":

1. If HYDRUS is not already running, run it "As Administrator", i.e. click on the HYDRUS icon by right mouse button and select "Run as administrator".
2. Go to the main menu and click on the command "Help->Hydrus License and Authorization".
3. In the "HYDRUS Authorization" dialog, press the button "Activate by E-mail".
4. In the dialog "Activation by E-mail", go to page "Step 3", enter the activation code and press the button "Activate Now". This will finish the activation process.
5. Please note that you have to deactivate HYDRUS before any hardware changes or Windows reinstallation (see details at Deactivation of HYDRUS).
