HYDRUS Projects – UNSATCHEM Examples

  • Description: Examples demonstrating the use of the UNSATCHEM module simulating transport of major ions and their mutual interactions. Two sets of examples are presented. The first set of examples (Test1-x) involves infiltration into a one-dimensional soil column. The second set of examples (Test4-x) involves furrow infiltration. Project Description
Test1-H Infiltration of water into a soil column (only water; regular HYDRUS).
Test1-U1 Infiltration of water and solute into a soil column. Instantaneous precipitation of calcite is considered.
Test1-U1a Infiltration of water and solute into a soil column. Instantaneous precipitation of calcite and reduction of hydraulic conductivity due to solution chemistry is considered.
Test1-U2 Infiltration of water and solute into a soil column. Kinetic precipitation of calcite is considered.
Test4 Furrow irrigation – water flow and solute transport is simulated using the regular version of HYDRUS.
Test4-H Furrow irrigation – only water flow is simulated using the regular version of HYDRUS.
Test4-U1 Furrow irrigation – water flow and transport of major ions (involving cation exchange) is simulated using the UNSATCHEM module of HYDRUS (t = 5 d).
Test4-U2 Furrow irrigation – water flow and transport of major ions (involving cation exchange) is simulated using the UNSATCHEM module of HYDRUS (t = 50 d).
Test4-U3 Furrow irrigation – water flow and transport of major ions (involving cation exchange and precipitation of calcite) is simulated using the UNSATCHEM module of HYDRUS (t = 50 d).
Test4-U4 Furrow irrigation – water flow and transport of major ions (involving cation exchange and precipitation of gypsum) is simulated using the UNSATCHEM module of HYDRUS (t = 50 d).
